Made from coir with rubber backing, this rectangular mat combines a traditional natural-fibre surface with a backing designed for floor placement. Its brown colour and solid pattern create a simple appearance that can complement a variety of residential and commercial interiors.

Entrance matting helps create a designated area where people can brush loose dirt from their footwear before walking onto adjoining floors. The coir surface is intended to help collect dirt and moisture, supporting everyday floor care in busy entrance areas. Positioning the mat near a doorway can help reduce the amount of loose debris carried further inside, although results depend on footwear, weather and the amount of foot traffic.

This matting can be considered for home entrances, hallways, foyers, lobbies and suitable reception areas. Its understated appearance makes it easy to coordinate with different flooring colours and interior styles without making the entrance look overly decorative.

17mm Pile Height and Machine-Woven Surface

The matting has a specified pile height of 17mm and a standard pile type. Its machine-woven construction provides a consistent surface appearance, while the brown colour gives it a natural look suitable for different entrance arrangements. These details are useful when comparing matting options and planning how the product will fit into an existing space.

Before choosing a location, consider the height of the surrounding floor and the clearance beneath doors. The mat should sit comfortably within the intended area without catching against the door or creating an awkward transition between surfaces. Check the available space carefully, especially in narrow hallways and frequently used doorways.

The 17mm pile-height measurement should not be treated as a complete measurement of the product's overall thickness. If you need to confirm the total height or compatibility with a particular doorway, consult the full product details before ordering.

Dirt and Moisture Collection Around Entrances

Dirt- and moisture-absorbing properties are listed among the product features. Coir entrance matting is commonly used to help brush loose dirt from footwear, creating a first point of contact between the outside environment and the indoor floor. This can be useful in homes and other suitable spaces where people regularly enter with dust, soil or light moisture on their shoes.

For everyday use, position the mat along the natural route into the building so people can step onto it when entering. Regularly remove collected dirt to prevent debris from building up on the surface. During wet weather, inspect the mat and the floor underneath to check whether moisture is accumulating.

Although moisture absorption is listed, the supplied details do not establish that the product is waterproof or suitable for prolonged exposure to rain. Its suitability for outdoor placement will depend on the conditions of the chosen location and the care provided.

Rubber Backing and Floor Placement

The material is specified as coir with rubber backing. This construction combines the coir surface with a backing intended for placement on the floor. Anti-slip and non-slip features are also listed, making the backing an important consideration when selecting an entrance mat for everyday use.

Before placing the mat, make sure the floor is clean, dry and free from loose debris. Lay the mat flat and check that its edges remain in position. Pay particular attention to smooth floors, doorways and areas where people turn while walking. The actual grip can vary according to the floor finish, cleanliness and environmental conditions, so the listed features should not be considered a guarantee of slip prevention on every surface.

Check the mat periodically for movement, curling or wear. If the edges lift or the mat no longer sits securely, address the issue before continued use. Appropriate placement helps keep the entrance accessible and reduces the chance of the mat becoming an obstruction.

Multiple Sizes for Different Spaces

The listed sizes include 40 × 60cm, 40 × 70cm, 60 × 90cm and 60 × 100cm, along with additional options. This range provides flexibility when selecting matting for different entrance layouts. A smaller size may suit a compact doorway, while a larger option may cover more of the floor immediately inside an entrance.

Measure the intended area before selecting a size. Consider the width of the doorway, the direction in which the door opens and the amount of floor space available around nearby furniture or fittings. In a hallway or lobby, leave enough room for people to pass comfortably without stepping around the mat.

The item-length field refers to further details, so confirm the exact dimensions of the selected option in the product listing. Do not assume that every available size has the same proportions or fits every doorway. Measuring beforehand helps you choose an option that suits the intended location.

Indoor and Outdoor Placement with Routine Care

The product is listed for indoor and outdoor use and for a wide range of rooms, including foyers, hallways, conservatories, garages, kitchens, living rooms, porches, terraces and utility areas.
